The Ten Commandments

Exodus 20:1-17
The Ten Commandments reveal God’s moral law, rooted in His character and designed for the flourishing of His people. Before issuing commands, God declares His grace: I am the LORD your God who brought you out of Egypt. Obedience is always a response to redemption. We’ll cover the threefold use of the law: to restrain evil, reveal sin, and guide believers in holy living. The commandments reveal God’s priorities for his people—exclusive worship, reverence for His name, Sabbath rest, honor, life, purity, truth, and contentment. The law exposes our inability to save ourselves and points us to Christ, the true law-keeper who fulfills righteousness on our behalf. Yet the law also becomes our delight as the Spirit writes it on our hearts. God speaks His law not to burden His people but to shape them into a covenant community reflecting His holiness.
