VISION
STATEMENT
To
be a diverse community united in Christ, whose love compels us to build
one another up to serve Philadelphia
and the world
VALUES
Gospel of Jesus Christ
We embrace the Gospel of Jesus Christ as foundational to our worldview,
our community, and our purpose. The Gospel is the good news that Jesus
lived the life we should have lived and died the death that we should
have died so that we who were once enemies of God are now reconciled
and restored to God's love. The good news is that we are adopted as
heirs by being united with Christ in faith, which is a gift of God's
grace. God created us to worship Him in spirit and in truth but,
because of our sin, our heart's bent has been to worship other
things--idols of moralism or hedonism. The good news is that we are
freed from the power of these twin idols and are restored to delight
and glory in and worship God. Simply put, the Gospel changes everything.
Community of
Authenticity
The Gospel compels us at City Line Church to value being a community of
authenticity. It is important to us that we are open with our lives,
that we put off any falsehood between us, and value being genuine about
the depth of our brokenness and our need for restoration to God and to
one another. We value the authentic diversity of God's people because
it enhances our experience and understanding of God. Through the
diversity of our cultures, life experiences, and spiritual gifts, we
collectively reflect the beauty and creativity of God, and the many
facets of His character.
God's
Movement of
Restoration
The
Gospel compels our community at City Line Church to value being a part
of God's movement of restoration beyond the four walls of our church
building. We are committed to equipping, training, and mobilizing
generations of restorers to advance God's kingdom in greater
Philadelphia as well as the ends of the earth. We delight in seeing
God's restoration of faith amid cynicism, hope amid despair, and love
amid self-absorption. We proclaim the triumph of the Gospel and strive
to create a culture of restoration amid brokenness.
