IN A CULTURE OF GREAT MOBILITY and multiple priorities, creating and maintaining meaningful relationships can be difficult. This is even more the case when it comes to spiritual friendships. The good news is that Jesus desires for us the kinds of relationships that we desire for ourselves – relationships in which we experience growth, belonging, honesty, and joy.
While there are no shortcuts to forming good friendships – it takes time and commitment and a willingness to open up – City Line intentionally creates spaces for relationships to deepen. We do this in a variety of ways, including seminars and retreats, men’s and women’s events, and college student events. Our membership process is a formal way of deepening our belonging with one another. But perhaps the most consistent spaces in which we foster greater community is through our Life Groups.
